Our beautiful babies!

Snuggled at birth!
Hello!

I'm now blogging as a mommy! I am so unbelievably blessed. I just put my two little ones down for a nap! Whew! Today Ella and James are 6 weeks old! I cannot believe how they are growing. Last nite Ella was cooing with me, I wanted to cry. This morning after feeding James , he gave me the biggest smile! I am so so proud of my precious babies.

My little lovebugs wouldn't be here without the love and care from Jess! We couldn't have asked for a better surrogacy journey! Jess delivered at 38 weeks! Yes, 38 weeks with healthy twins!

Gavin and I flew out to California a couple days early, before the planned delivery. We had some great times visiting with Jess and her family before delivery.

I believe Jess and I were destined to meet! Thanks to Jess I am a now a mommy! ; )

Baby Ella 5.12 oz and baby James 7lbs were born November 14, 2012

Healthy as can be!

I have been a very busy mom! I guess thats why it has taken me 6 weeks to share. Today they are 6 weeks old, holy cow! I love them so much! I love being a mommy!

BABY NEWS!

We received some amazing news at our anatomical ultrasound. We were unable to be there due to Gavin needing surgery to his right knee due to the good ol' dirt bike. It was an unbelievable evening! Jess planned to call us during the ultrasound as long as it was okay. Waiting for that phone call was like waiting for Christmas morning! So so exciting!

The above pic is from our last LA visit. Jess called when the ultrasound began to share that...

Yeah!!!! A few seconds go by and then

So much Joy and happiness! I actually was screaming and jumping up and down! It was the best feeling! We are so blessed in many many ways!

BIG NEWS!

Well it's been way to long since I've done a post, but I've been busy! We're having twins! We are so excited our family is growing! We couldn't have done it without our surrogate Jessica! We are so blessed! We had our egg retrieval and transfer in early March, we then had 13 days before we got any news. There were many prayers! Towards the end Jess actually shared with us that she felt pregnant! As a mother of 2, we felt so excited! On Monday, March 26th we got a positive pregnancy test! Our beta number was 1521! Which is great, high which gave us hopes for twins! On Wednesday, March 28 our beta number doubled! Yeah! April 10, 6wks6days was ultrasound #1, we found out that we had two sacs, and 1 heartbeat! Our doc said it was still early, we were thrilled and we knew what we had to do! Prayer!

Gavin and I had plans to fly out to California for our 2nd ultrasound! So much to be thankful for! On Saturday April 28, we had 2 amazing heartbeats! The babies our so precious and little just an inch at 9 1/2 weeks. I wanted to jump up and down with joy! What a feeling!

We were so lucky to share the weekend with Jess and her family! Following the appointment we had a lovely lunch and we spent the afternoon at Santa Monica beach and Pier! We planned a day at the LA Zoo for Sunday!

A fun filled amazing weekend!

We are so looking forward to parenthood and a lifetime friend!

Lots of smiles!

Continue/Surrogacy

Hello to all fellow bloggers,

As we are concluding our loved weekends. I left off sharing with you an amazing women, who's going to help Gavin and I make our family! We decided that it would be important that we meet of course. So Gavin and I made a trip out to California in January 2011,to meet J and her family. We met them the Friday evening we arrived, it was great, a little scary too! This was potentially the woman that would carry a child for us. And vice versa for her too. There were so many feeling going through my mind. I think it was like that for her too! We a had great evening chatting, hanging out and sharing pictures. We met again Sunday, to spend the whole day together! I couldn't wait! Gavin and I felt such warm feeling after our first encounter!

Sunday we met at Pink's, a famous hot dog joint in LA and we later went to the Santa Monica Pier for a beautiful day! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. We did have to say goodbye that night, I'll tell you it was tough! We would be leaving early Monday morning.

After an amazing trip and meeting amazing people we planned another trip to make a little magic in February. There was a problem though, In California in February we found out that Gavin needed surgery before things could happen! We were really bummed out, flat out upset, we were all ready to go! It wasn't a total wash because we were able to spend more time with our friend J and family! We were invited to their home ;) and grandparents home for dinner! It was just great!

So were back in Connecticut, Gavin has his surgery at the end of March and we are told we needed to wait 6-12 months before we could move further with the surrogacy. We were able to have some testing done last Monday which was 4 months post surgery. So here we are today, praying for positive results! Things could happen a little earlier than 6-12 months. ;) Gavin and I were blessed to have met J she's like a lucky star
Sweet dreams!

Continued...

Hello all,

Gavin and I celebrated our 4th anniversary yesterday together! We both worked and poor Gavin had a root canal mid-day. How he went back to work I don't know! He did though, he is a trooper! We're planning to spend the day or overnight in Block Island sometime this month. It's a busy month with lots of birthdays and baby showers (not mine), its hard to find time in these busy months. We are looking forward to it though. Block Island is very cutesy and quaint, and Gavin has never been there. I think he'll really enjoy it. ;)

So, in the last post I had mentioned Surrogacy and how I was doing my homework.
It was pretty new to me. I didn't know anyone personally who had done it, just the rich and famous. ;) So I know most people know about it, but for anyone who doesn't. A Surrogate Mother is a woman who carries and gives birth to a child with the intent to give the child to the intended parents. A Gestational Surrogate is a woman who carries a pregnancy for someone else, donating only her uterus. A Traditional Surrogate is a woman who donates her egg as well as her uterus. There is so much to learn, I've been learning a little over the year. Last summer while learning, I met a few Surrogate Mothers and spoke with them via email and learned a little more. Towards the end of the summer I found a great website/little community of Surrogate Mothers and Intended Parents. I got a lot of  information as well as met some great people.

In the beginning of September I met an amazing women and great friend. ;) Big smiles!! I will call her J. We began chatting via email almost daily. Sharing lots of information about each other and family, life and our goals. I remember how excited I would get when I received a letter! Holy cow! And when a few days might go by without a letter. Wow it was just funny! I really looked forward to those letters. I believe in October is when we started chatting on the phone. I was so so nervous the first time, I remember it was an autumn day, I paced by backyard round and round for the whole conversation! It was great though! I saved ever email that was written and even jotted down a little bit of what we talked about and how long we spoke for! lol, it's quite funny. I little bit cute. J was what I talked about with my close colleagues at work, family and friends every day! Always something to say! Today almost a year later, she is still being talked out just about every day. Always lovely things J!

We decided that we wanted to work together! I also remember this day! What a day! ;) We decided J was going to help us become parents! J was going to be a Surrogate Mother for us and we would be the Intended Parents! Happy Happy time!

J has an very supportive, wonderful, kind and fun husband! These men are hard to find, yet I think J and I were blessed to find 2 of these great men! J also has two sweet sweet little ones! Gavin and I have had the pleasure of meeting the little munchkins. Their just amazing! J also comes from a supportive, great family! Who invited us into their beautiful home like we were family! ;)It was great! I'm not going to get into any of the not so fun parts of Surrogacy, but there are some considering it is a big deal.

I'm am getting very tired and I need to relax with Gavin a little before bed. I do look forward to next time sharing about our first meeting in good ol' California January 2011!
So until next time,
Happy Relaxing,
Carly

Happy Sunday!

Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! It's a hot one up here in Connecticut! I'm relaxing on my back porch just writing, listening to the birds tweet tweet and feeling just the slight breeze. I'm thinking about in just a few days, I will have been married four years to my baby! It's hard to believe, we've actually been together ten and a half years. Gavin was my first LOVE ! I've had boyfriends and such, but one of the first nights we met, I just knew I had to hang on to this one. There wasn't anything special he did, it was just something I felt! So here we are ten years later married, happy, wonderful families and in a sweet little brick home! Wait there's something missing, a little munchkin! Yeah, Gavin and I are ready to be mommy's and daddy's!

We have known for a long while that I am unable, due to some past medical history. Yet we were always positive knowing we would be parents when the time was right. There's always adoption and surrogacy. When we got married in 2007, we hoped that surrogacy would be an option for us.

We had an amazing honeymoon in California. We flew across the country the morning after our wedding to beautiful San Diego. We drove a convertible up the coast of the state. I'll never forget it's beauty! We spent a little time in LA, San Francisco and in the Redwoods, upstate California. It was a great trip, we always say how we'd love to move out.

Last summer my cousin and her darling baby girl from California came to visit. It was fantastic to spend time. We don't have any babies in the family here in CT ;(. What I noticed was how incredible Gavin was with the baby. He adored her, it was the sweetest thing. And I couldn't put her down! I knew we were ready for parenthood. As ready as anyone ever is, right?

I began my homework! Lots and lots to learn, about surrogacy! It's what we both thought would be best for us. Sorry,I think I need to take a break, yet I have more to share and I look forward to sharing! I'm excited! ;)

Happy Sunday,
Carly
