Vintage cake/Christmas tags

Happy Tuesday!

Christmas is right around the corner! I love the sparkling lights,Christmas music, wrapping gifts, the smell of homemade Christmas cookies and shopping for gifts! All the JOYS!

I received a beautiful package from Sharon at My Vintage Studio. Sharon sent me four sweet Christmas tags and a lovely vintage Santa magnet! Thank you so much Sharon! What fun it was to receive after a long day at work! Thank you to Sue@ Suelovescherries.blogspot.com for hosting a beautiful Christmas tag swap!
I made my first tag which was great fun! I look forward to joining in another tag swap!

These cake mixes I bought are Jiffy cake mixes, what my gramma swears by. Ever since I was a liitle girl jiffy is what I'd find in the cupboard. Every birthday it was Jiffy! I agree they are delicious! These mixes have been hard to come by, they stopped selling them in the city grocery stores! I figured I'd look them up on line. I planned to purchase a case for $6.00 but the shipping was going to be $15.00. Outrageous! I then looked up where they were sold, smart idea I found them locally! Yeah! My gramma will be thrilled to get these mixes with her Christmas gift!

To me they actually look vintage! What do think? Does anyone use Jiffy cake mix? I bought a few for myself to try!

Thanks for stopping by! Please come again!

Have a wonderful and safe Christmas!

Hello!

Hello!

I cannot say how excited I am to be blogging again! It's been almost a month! Gavin and I just figured out how to add images from my ipad2, I think images or pics make the post! My computer that I normally use is still broken. The pic I'm posting is my mother in-law Ellen's kitten! His name is Rocky! He is so precious! Look at him snoozing! Ellen adopted Rocky and his sister Molly moon at 8 weeks. The kittens were left at the steps of a vetranerian's office at only a few weeks! Some people! The babies were bottle fed untill they could eat on their own. Ellen's friend worked at the office and thought of Ellen right away, Ellen has a love for cats and dogs!

Yesterday I worked half a day which was great for a Friday! After work I headed right to the thrift store! This thrift store is huge, I'd have to say it's bigger than a Goodwill! I head straight the kitchen items (Pyrex)! I see two amazing pieces! They were in great shape and good prices! Smiles!

I next proceed to the book area, in search of children's books! I was in luck, I found about 12 excellent condition, hard cover books! Also priced right at $1.00 each!

I do a quick run through the linens, and then to check out!

I had a lunch date with my mother! Which was much needed! She works the weekend and I work Monday through Friday so it becomes difficult to get together! It was fun we both had breakfast! A favorite of ours!

I will post the pics in the next post!

Happy weekend!

Power outage!

Hello to all!

It's been a crazy couple of days! At first the prediction was a dusting to an inch. We move to 5-10 inches and then to a foot and a half! So we ended up getting about 8-10 inches, and a power outage from saturday night to Monday night! 48 hours, it was weird, I felt like we were camping! We cooked dinner last on our BBQ grill! Gavin did have a generator which helped tremendously! We didn't loose and food and don't laugh but gav hooked it up so we watched movies too! Jon and heather ( bro and girlfriend) came over yesterday and we played monopoly all afternoon! We had lots of fun!
I missed my iPad though for 2 whole days! So sad our other computer has a bug so I haven't been able to put any new pics, ;(

Talk soon, missed blogging!
Good night

What an evening!

Hello

I had a very lousy evening, after work I went to Savers (a huge thrift store in CT) and sally's beauty supply. Yeah, that doesn't sound so bad and that part was great! As I get into my car it wouldn't start! It was awful,no cell, 25 minutes from home and not the best area of town. What do you do? There aren't pay phones around these days. I was very lucky I was able to use the phone in Sally's but no one answers phones these days because everyone screens their calls as I do too. I called my brother Jon and his girlfriend Heather picked up thank goodness. Since Jon actually works across the street from were I was he was able to call and ask a co worker from Pet boys to come and give me a hand! I was saved! So thumbs up to Jon,Heather,Joe and Pet boys!

So let's look at something that makes me smile and I hope you'll smile too!

Vintage linens! ;)
I have been collecting these beautiful vintage spreads, duvets etc. for about 2 years!
They do make  me smile!

I look forward to sharing my finds in a few days as my computer is under the weather!

Smiles,
Carly

A fun day in Great Barrington,Massachusettes!

I really adore vintage images, look at the sweet little happy faces!

Last Saturday my mother in law spent the day in Great Barrington , Massachusetts. We had a such beautiful day! On our drive we stopped at an antique store with a big Tag Sale sign in front! We had to stop! Inside there weren't to many bargains! Prices were High! I did pick up some fabric at a Tag Sale price! We continue on our way to a cute small town with a real Toy Store, not ToysRus or kaybee but a real fun toy store! It was fun! We did some walking, talking and shopping! I bought two adorable greeting cards, I think I'll frame! We had a nice lunch.
To the Antique Mall here we come! Much fun we had, but we were on a tight schedule because we had dinner plans! I'm so happy to share this super vintage wall lamp that works! It's a beauty!

Sorry about the pics, my camera was being fresh!

Cute little town!
