Happy Sunday!

Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! It's a hot one up here in Connecticut! I'm relaxing on my back porch just writing, listening to the birds tweet tweet and feeling just the slight breeze. I'm thinking about in just a few days, I will have been married four years to my baby! It's hard to believe, we've actually been together ten and a half years. Gavin was my first LOVE ! I've had boyfriends and such, but one of the first nights we met, I just knew I had to hang on to this one. There wasn't anything special he did, it was just something I felt! So here we are ten years later married, happy, wonderful families and in a sweet little brick home! Wait there's something missing, a little munchkin! Yeah, Gavin and I are ready to be mommy's and daddy's!

We have known for a long while that I am unable, due to some past medical history. Yet we were always positive knowing we would be parents when the time was right. There's always adoption and surrogacy. When we got married in 2007, we hoped that surrogacy would be an option for us.

We had an amazing honeymoon in California. We flew across the country the morning after our wedding to beautiful San Diego. We drove a convertible up the coast of the state. I'll never forget it's beauty! We spent a little time in LA, San Francisco and in the Redwoods, upstate California. It was a great trip, we always say how we'd love to move out.

Last summer my cousin and her darling baby girl from California came to visit. It was fantastic to spend time. We don't have any babies in the family here in CT ;(. What I noticed was how incredible Gavin was with the baby. He adored her, it was the sweetest thing. And I couldn't put her down! I knew we were ready for parenthood. As ready as anyone ever is, right?

I began my homework! Lots and lots to learn, about surrogacy! It's what we both thought would be best for us. Sorry,I think I need to take a break, yet I have more to share and I look forward to sharing! I'm excited! ;)

Happy Sunday,
Carly

My very own new/vintage aqua Singer ;)

Hello,

Saturday was a real good thrifting day for me as some of you know. Gavin and I had gone to two planned tag sales, so were just driving and we see a few signs for Huge Tag Sale. So we go and check it out. Not to much that catches my eye and I'm almost done looking until I see something aqua and large hiding under a table that catches my eye. I kneel down and sure enough it's a beautiful Singer sewing machine! The price was right and I liked it! I was thrilled, my own Singer sewing machine! I don't now how to sew yet but I'm eager to learn. Yesterday I cleaned it up, checked to see if it worked and I went to youtube and learned how to thread it! It's Great!! Before I started blogging which is only about 2 months ago, I probably wouldn't have thought twice about the lovely Singer! Yet having seen some of the work my fellow bloggers have done, you guys have inspired me to learn a new craft! So here are a few pics!

 Isn't she a beauty!
Goodnight!

Saturday morning finds!

Hello!

I have been grinning all day! I had the pleasure of my husband Gavin accompanying me this morning to tag sales! I generally tag by myself or with my sister, but today it was me and Gavin. We hit the first tag sale, and WOW it was a good one! I found some amazing vintage items! I'm lucky Gavin was with me because I didn't have enough money. I generally bring $20, which is usually enough. I'd have to say this tag sale is the best of the year! So let's get right to the pictures!
BEAUTY!

I bought this piece from an older woman (70's) and she told me that her mother had passed it down to her. I love the age it has. The material looks like a linen of some sort. It has some embroidery and the coloring almost looks like it was painted? It is labeled W. Va. early 1900's.

How sweet!

Lovely!

I just love the vintage image. So sweet! I love this piece and it was such a bargain 50 cents!

This cookbook is awesome with sweet vintage images and copyright 1953.

This pair of little doll bonnets were made for this women's mother by her mother.
It reads circa 1910 Doll Bonnets $5.00 pr. It also reads These articles crocheted for Ruth by her Grandmother Broke.

What a great tag sale, I'm going to browse through my new vintage cookbook!
Happy Weekend! Stay cool!

Saturday Game night!

Hello

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I had something fun and different to look forward to, it was Girls Game Night! I love playing games! Any game, I'm in!
So last weekend I planned a game night for girls of course, I have the hardest time getting my spouse or any guy to play boardgames. It was short notice because my sister is going on vacation for two weeks and I wanted her there of course! So I went to evite.com to send little cards via email to a few of my friends! Its free and fun. They have a good system going! This is the invite I used for my friends!
Cute huh?

I also have a few pics from last night. I want to add, I had a great time! We did so much laughing, it was great! They say laughter is the best medicine!

Jacey made guacamole! It was good!

Milford, A beautiful day!

Hello

We made another trip to Milford! Silver Sands is the beach of our families choice! We've been renting a cottage on the beach since I can remember! It's also where I was married 4 years ago next month! It's hard to believe how good times travel. I made some yummy sandwiches to bring for lunch. I tried to copy a delicious sandwich I had last year at a little cafe.

Ingredients include whole wheat bread, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, sliced turkey, sliced strawberries, scallion mayo (thinly sliced scallions mixed with some mayo). I took a few pics to share. These are great summer sandwiches!

Gramma enjoying a little sun on the sandbar! My sister, Gramma and I had a beautiful time at the beach. We also had to stop a goodwill, where we found some goodies which I'll post later!

Goodnite!

I'm excited to share some new things I've found!

Is this the sweetest lil tea set you've ever seen?

This is a Cape Cod compact with a spot for a lipstick on the side.

It has two compact sides,  this one with a mirror!

I have a plan for these beauties!

What a lovely vintage bowl!

How old is this beauty?
