Thrifting haul for my babies!

Hope everyone's summer is bringing them much joy! We had a busy independence holiday weekend! We took the twins to the seashore for the first time! They absolutely loved it. As we did too, seeing the smiles and curiosity! <3 We also enjoyed family bbq's! Good family fun!

I have had the opportunity to find some treasures for the babies, which has been fun! When I thrift I generally bring them with me. So I guess you could say I'm starting them early! Ella and James enjoy flea markets! We get lots of visitors as we shop the market! We have been to the elephant trunk in New Milford, CT, Stormville flea market in NY,and I think we'll be venturing out to Brimfield, MA for the antique show and flea market weather permitting Saturday!

Here are a few pics I'd like to share!

These were found at thrift stores. Left to right Fun soft blocks, fisher price horse pull toy (1976)and colorful fun foam blocks! All together under $10!

Wooden puzzles were found at the elephant trunk for $5. Vintage rattle $1 at Savers thrift store. Second hand books at Goodwill!

Don't ya just love a bargain! Sweet things for my lil lovebugs! Happy thrifting! I recently started Instagram which I love it's so quick and easy! If anyone wants to check me out I am- Swtvintaglove

Thrifting for the nursery!

So happy for the warmer weather here in Connecticut! It feels like Spring! I've had my babies out enjoying the weather for the past five day! I've been snapping lots of pics that I'm looking forward to posting very soon!

I wanted to share these lovelies that I've picked up thrifting! I was so lucky to find these Beatrix Potter items at Goodwill!

I found this sweet kitty light plate at a tag sale! Is it the cutest thing?

I also found these lovely baby books! Beatrix Potter unused and this tiny baby girl baby book. It's almost 100 years old! Also unused!

This is my precious family on our goodwill run! We had a blast! We were actually on vacation at the beach in Milford, CT! Much fun.

I love children's books! Goodwill is one of the best places to find them! My babies are going to have a lovely collection!

I found these cute pink capri's from gap! They're perfect for work, at $6 you can't go wrong! Have a great weekend and happy thrifting! Carly I am linking- http://linda-coastalcharm.blogspot.com/

Bargain hunting!

I usually make a stop to goodwill once a week. In search of vintage linen, china anything that makes me smile! Lots of time I'm drawn to color! Pink and aqua are eye candy to me! Pastels work too! So I was browsing in the furniture area when I found this lovely little piece! The floral linen is what sold me! It's just a beauty!

Lately I've been noticing DIY chalk paint in blog land. I've really wanted to try the real Annie Sloan chalk paint but, it's not sold in CT and the price is a little steep! So for a few dollars I tried a sample of aqua paint from Lowes and some plaster of paris with a few drops of water. One part plaster of paris and two parts paint! Sorry no pics I forgot!

I love the outcome! Look at the color! I may sand it a little, not sure yet. I will put some furn. wax, if anyone can suggest a wax or protectant please let me now! Also it's rather small to be an ottoman but it's all I can think of. Any one have another idea, I'd love to hear it!

Lovely vintage!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Suneday!
Carly

Lovely Finds!

Hello

Hope everyone's Labor Day weekend is going well! Its great to have a three day weekend, I wish it happened more often! Saturday, Gavin and I ventured to New York to Stormville Flea Market! I was a little weary of the weather but it turned out great! It was warm and hazy! I found some lovely items! My first find was a beautiful vintage aqua summer duvet if you will. It was in a heap with other linens in a box on the ground, so I figured I would get a deal! I am just drawn to the color aqua. I paid $4 for this beauty. It actually fits my queen size bed and is in excellent shape!
I also found these sweet items that needed to come home with me!
The sleepy kitty is for my sister, when I saw it, I new my sis would love her!

I wish Gavin had found something to bring home, but we had a good time&had a yummy lunch! I have a few other finds to share that I picked up at a local thrift shop and Goodwill!
This set appears to me to be a sugar and creamer set of depression glass. I'll have to ask my Mother in law! I got the set for $5! The next set of finds are from Goodwill! This snowy scene placemat was such an exciting find because I have already collected2that match! And I love snowy scenes! I also have a love for
childrens books and at 50cents a piece I can't turn them down!

Well I am happy with these great finds to add to my collections! Again hope we all have a safe and happy Labor Day!
Goodnight,
Carly

Milford, A beautiful day!

Hello

We made another trip to Milford! Silver Sands is the beach of our families choice! We've been renting a cottage on the beach since I can remember! It's also where I was married 4 years ago next month! It's hard to believe how good times travel. I made some yummy sandwiches to bring for lunch. I tried to copy a delicious sandwich I had last year at a little cafe.

Ingredients include whole wheat bread, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, sliced turkey, sliced strawberries, scallion mayo (thinly sliced scallions mixed with some mayo). I took a few pics to share. These are great summer sandwiches!

Gramma enjoying a little sun on the sandbar! My sister, Gramma and I had a beautiful time at the beach. We also had to stop a goodwill, where we found some goodies which I'll post later!

Goodnite!
Carly ;)
